The Shelly device controls Shelly smart switches and relays, so your automations can power studio gear on and off — a tally lamp, an on-air sign, a fan, a monitor — and read how much power it is drawing.
Connection
Provide the relay’s host. A password is only needed if you enabled authentication on the device; it is off by default on Gen2 models.
Multi-channel relays expose more than one output. You choose the output per command with a switch ID rather than fixing it on the device, so one configured device can drive every channel.
Commands
Pulse on is the one to use for a momentary trigger, such as closing a contact for a second. Pulse off power-cycles a device that has locked up, without anyone walking to the rack.
State
The device reports back live:
- Connection state
- Switch ID and whether the output is on
- Active power in watts, voltage, and current
- Device temperature
- Last action and last error
Because power draw is reported, a rule can react to a device that is drawing no current when it should be running.
Triggers
The Shelly device is control and status only — it raises no triggers of its own. To act on its state, read it in a rule condition.
