Behringer X Air

The X Air device controls Behringer X Air and M Air compact digital mixers, so a rundown item can open a presenter’s microphone, duck a bed, or recall a snapshot for the next segment. For the larger consoles, see Behringer X32.

Connection

Provide the mixer’s host and UDP port (default 10024), and pick the model — XR12, XR16, XR18, or X18.

Commands

Command	What it does
Set channel fader	Sets an input channel’s fader level, from 0.0 to 1.0
Mute / unmute channel	Mutes or unmutes an input channel
Set main fader	Sets the main LR fader level
Mute / unmute main	Mutes or unmutes the main LR bus
Set send level	Sets a channel’s send level to a bus or aux
Set mute group	Mutes or unmutes one of the four mute groups
Recall snapshot	Recalls a stored snapshot by index

A raw OSC command is available for anything not listed here.

A mute group changes several channels in one message. Muting a group of microphones that way avoids the ragged effect of separate rule actions arriving a few milliseconds apart.

Triggers

Trigger	Fires when
Connection changes	The mixer connects or disconnects
Channel mute changes	A channel is muted or unmuted, carrying the channel and its new state
Channel fader changes	A fader moves, carrying the channel and level

Because mute and fader changes fire whoever made them, a rule can react to an operator moving a fader on the console itself — not only to changes Fabl made.

The device reports its connection state.
