The Teradek device controls Teradek encoders, so the stream starts when your show does and stops when it ends — and a rule can react if the stream drops mid-show.

Connection

Provide the encoder’s host and password. Allow self-signed certificate covers encoders using their own certificate on the local network.

Commands

Units with more than one stream or encoder take an index, so a single device can drive each of them.

Triggers

The stream-state trigger is the one worth building an alert on: it fires on error as well as start and stop, so a rule can put a warning on a studio display the moment a stream drops rather than when someone notices.

State

The device reports its connection state, model and firmware, the current stream state, the bitrate, whether it is recording, and the last error.
