The HyperDeck device controls Blackmagic HyperDeck recorders and players, so a rundown item can roll a clip, start an ISO record, or jump the deck to the right point on its timeline.

Connection

Provide the deck’s host and port. The reconciliation poll sets how often Fabl re-reads the deck’s state to stay in step.

Media

Format media erases the target. It uses a two-step key handshake, so it cannot fire by accident from a single stray action — but treat any rule that calls it with care.

Formats and monitoring

A raw request command is available for anything not listed here.

Triggers

Rules can react to the connection changing, the transport mode changing, playback starting, stopping or changing speed, recording starting or stopping, the current clip changing, the timeline changing, the active media changing, and the input source or format changing.

State

The device reports its connection state, product name and software version, transport mode, whether it is playing or recording, speed, loop and single-clip flags, the clip index, name and position, the clip count, active media, remaining record time, input source, codec and video format.
