Rundowns in Fabl are built for teams. Every rundown is a live document — multiple people can view and edit it at the same time, and every change appears instantly for all collaborators. Whether your producer is adjusting segment durations from the office and your director is reviewing on set, everyone always sees the same up-to-date rundown.

Share a Rundown

1

Open the rundown you want to share

Navigate to Rundowns in the sidebar and click the rundown you want to share. The rundown editor will open in full view.
2

Click the Share button

Click Share in the top-right corner of the rundown. The sharing panel will slide open, showing anyone who currently has access.
3

Invite collaborators

In the Invite people field, type the email addresses of the team members you want to add, or select them from your workspace member list. You can add multiple people at once by separating addresses with a comma.
4

Set permissions

For each invitee, choose a permission level:
  • Viewer — can read the rundown and see all segments and timing, but cannot make edits
  • Editor — can add, edit, reorder, and delete segments, update timing, and leave notes
Choose Viewer for talent or stakeholders who need visibility without edit access, and Editor for producers, directors, and crew who are actively building the show.
5

Send invitations

Click Send Invitations. Each invitee receives an email with a direct link to the rundown. Workspace members who already have access can open the rundown immediately.
Only members of your Fabl workspace can be granted access to a rundown. External collaborators must be added to your workspace first before you can invite them to a specific rundown. Contact your workspace admin to add new members.

Real-Time Editing

Once a rundown is shared, all Editors can make changes simultaneously. Fabl shows you who else is present in the rundown through avatar icons in the top-right corner — hover over an avatar to see the collaborator’s name. Changes made by any Editor appear in every other collaborator’s view within milliseconds, with the updated cell or field briefly highlighted to draw attention to the change.
Use the Notes field on individual segments to leave context for your collaborators — for example, flagging a segment duration as tentative or noting a required approval before the segment airs.

Version History and Rollback

Fabl saves a snapshot of your rundown every time a meaningful change is made. To access version history:
  1. Open the rundown and click the ⋯ More options menu in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Version History from the dropdown.
  3. A panel will open on the right listing all saved versions, each stamped with the date, time, and the name of the collaborator who made the change.
  4. Click any version to preview it in read-only mode alongside your current rundown.
  5. To restore a version, click Restore this version. Fabl will make the selected version the current rundown and save your previous current state as a new version entry — so nothing is ever permanently lost.
You can restore as many times as needed. All version history entries are retained for the lifetime of the rundown.
When previewing a historical version, Fabl highlights differences between that version and the current rundown — added segments appear in green, removed segments in red, and changed fields are underlined. This makes it straightforward to understand exactly what changed and when before you decide to restore.
