Fabl brings your entire multi-camera production workflow into one place. From building detailed shot lists and assigning cameras before the show to managing live cue points and switching notes in real time, Fabl keeps every member of your crew aligned — whether you’re running a simple two-camera interview or a complex multi-segment live event. All of these tools connect directly to your rundowns and scripts, so there’s a single source of truth for the whole team from pre-production through broadcast.

What’s Included

Fabl’s multi-camera production suite covers every stage of a live or recorded production:
  • Shot Lists — Build structured shot lists with per-camera assignments, framing notes, and switching cues, then link them to individual rundown segments.
  • Cue Points & Switching Notes — Attach precise cue points and director notes to any shot so your technical director knows exactly when and how to switch.
  • Graphics & Lower-Third Tracking — Plan lower-third titles and on-screen graphics alongside your shot list so nothing is missed during the show.
  • Live Show Mode — Run your production in real time with a live view of the current segment, upcoming cues, camera assignments, and elapsed time.

Who Uses These Tools

Different members of your production team interact with multi-camera tools in different ways. Understanding each role helps you configure permissions and workflows correctly.
The director owns the creative vision of the show. In Fabl, directors build and approve shot lists, write switching notes, and set cue points for each segment. During production, the director calls shots and advances cues in Live Show Mode, keeping the whole show moving to plan.
The technical director executes the director’s vision on the switcher. In Fabl, TDs reference camera assignments and switching notes in real time, monitor elapsed time and upcoming cues, and mark segments complete as the show progresses. Live Show Mode is designed around the TD’s workflow.
Camera operators use Fabl to see their specific shot assignments and framing notes for each segment. Having their shots pre-loaded before the show means less back-and-forth on comms and fewer missed frames.

How Multi-Camera Tools Connect to Rundowns and Scripts

Fabl’s multi-camera tools are not standalone — they are built on top of your rundown and script structure. Each shot list is attached to a specific rundown segment, so when a segment’s timing or content changes in the script, your shot list context updates automatically. Cue points reference timecodes derived from segment durations in the rundown, and graphics cues pull names and titles from the script’s lower-third fields. This tight integration means you never have to maintain a separate camera plan document alongside your rundown. Everything lives together, and the whole crew works from the same live data.
You must have a rundown created before you can attach shot lists or cue points to segments. See the Rundowns documentation to get started.
