Fabl’s AI assistance meets you where you are in the writing process. Whether you’re staring at a blank page or refining a script that’s almost there, the AI tools inside the script editor help you move faster without sacrificing quality. You stay in control — the AI generates, suggests, and rewrites, and you decide what makes it into the final script.
AI-generated content is a starting point, not a finished product. Always review and edit suggestions before your script goes to talent or production. You know your audience, tone, and factual requirements better than any AI does.

Generating a Script Draft from an Outline

The fastest way to go from idea to draft is to feed Fabl a structured outline and let the AI expand it into a full script. The more detail you provide in your outline, the more accurate and on-brand the resulting draft will be.
Write your outline with specific details — include the key message for each section, any required statistics or quotes, the intended audience, and the desired mood. A detailed outline produces a draft that needs far less editing than a vague one.
1

Open the Script Editor

Navigate to your rundown, click the target segment, and select Open Script. If the script is new, the editor opens to a blank canvas.
2

Open the AI Assist Panel

Click the AI Assist button in the top-right toolbar (the wand icon). The AI panel slides open alongside your editor without covering your workspace.
3

Paste or Type Your Outline

In the Generate Draft tab of the AI panel, paste your outline or type it directly. Use bullet points or numbered items — one point per intended script beat works best.
4

Set Your Preferences

Choose a tone (e.g., conversational, authoritative, energetic), a target duration in minutes, and any style notes such as “avoid jargon” or “include a strong call to action at the end.”
5

Generate the Draft

Click Generate Draft. Fabl’s AI processes your outline and writes a full script into the editor. The original outline is preserved in the AI panel for reference.
6

Review and Edit

Read through the generated draft carefully. Edit any section directly in the editor. Use the AI panel’s Rewrite Section tool (see below) for sections that need a different approach rather than minor tweaks.

AI Capabilities

Generate Draft takes a structured outline and expands it into a full, production-ready script draft. You provide the skeleton — section headings, key points, must-include facts — and the AI writes the connective tissue: transitions, on-camera language, and natural pacing suited to video delivery.Best used when: You have a clear outline but need to get to a workable first draft quickly without spending time on prose from scratch. How to access: Open the AI Assist panel and select the Generate Draft tab. Paste your outline, configure tone and duration, then click Generate Draft.Tips for better results:
  • Keep outline points specific and action-oriented
  • Indicate any segment timings (e.g., “30-second intro”)
  • Include names, product terms, or brand phrases you want the AI to use verbatim
Tone & Style analyzes your existing script and suggests edits to bring it into alignment with a target voice. You can select from built-in tone presets — Conversational, Authoritative, Energetic, Empathetic, or Formal — or describe your brand voice in free text and let the AI match it.Best used when: You’ve written or generated a draft but the voice feels off, inconsistent, or too generic for your brand. How to access: With text in the editor, open the AI Assist panel and go to the Tone & Style tab. Choose a preset or enter a custom description, then click Analyze & Suggest. The AI highlights sections that diverge from the target tone and offers line-by-line rewrites you can accept or dismiss individually. What the AI evaluates:
  • Sentence length and complexity
  • Active vs. passive voice balance
  • Word choice formality
  • Pacing and paragraph rhythm
  • Consistency of person (first, second, third)
Rewrite Section lets you highlight any portion of your script and ask the AI to rewrite it with a specific instruction. Unlike generating a full draft, this tool operates on a selection — it preserves the rest of your script untouched while giving the targeted section a fresh treatment.Best used when: A specific section isn’t landing — it’s too long, too flat, too technical, or simply not working — but the rest of the script is solid. How to access: Select the text you want to rewrite in the editor. The AI Assist toolbar appears above the selection; click Rewrite. Enter a short instruction such as “make this punchier,” “simplify for a general audience,” or “cut to under 20 seconds,” then click Apply.Supported instructions (examples):
  • Shorten / expand to a specific duration
  • Simplify language for a broader audience
  • Add a stronger hook or opening line
  • Make the call to action more direct
  • Rewrite in a different tense or person
The rewritten section appears as a suggested replacement. You can Accept, Reject, or Try Again with a revised instruction before committing any change to the script.

Working with AI-Generated Content

AI assistance in Fabl is additive — every AI action creates a new version in your version history, so you can always undo an AI change by restoring the previous version. You are never locked into an AI suggestion.
Do not rely on AI-generated scripts for factual accuracy. The AI does not have access to your organization’s data, live sources, or proprietary information. Always verify statistics, names, dates, and any claims before the script goes into production.
