The Frame.io integration brings your video review workflow directly into Fabl by letting you attach Frame.io assets and review links to individual rundown segments. Instead of tracking video files and review URLs in a separate spreadsheet or Slack thread, each segment in your rundown can carry a direct link to the corresponding Frame.io asset — so editors, producers, and clients can jump straight from the rundown to the video for review. Any team member with the Frame.io link can view the asset and leave timestamped comments without needing a Fabl account.

What the integration does

  • Lets you browse and attach Frame.io assets from within a Fabl rundown segment
  • Attaches the Frame.io review link directly to the segment so it’s visible to everyone with rundown access
  • Displays asset metadata — file name, duration, version number, and review status — inline on the segment
  • Keeps the link live so that when a new version is uploaded to Frame.io, the attached link automatically reflects it

Connect Frame.io

1

Open Integrations settings

Click your workspace avatar in the bottom-left corner of Fabl and select Settings. Navigate to the Integrations tab and click Connect next to Frame.io.
2

Sign in to Frame.io

Fabl opens the Frame.io authorization page. Sign in with the Frame.io account that has access to the projects and assets you want to link from Fabl.
3

Authorize Fabl

Frame.io asks you to confirm that Fabl can access your assets and review links. Click Authorize to grant access and return to Fabl. The integration is now active.
4

Select a default Frame.io team (optional)

If your Frame.io account belongs to multiple teams, choose the default team in the configuration panel. You can switch teams when attaching individual assets, so this is just a starting point. Click Save.
Fabl only reads asset metadata and review links from Frame.io — it does not upload, modify, or delete any assets in your Frame.io account. You retain full control of your assets in Frame.io.

Attach a Frame.io asset to a segment

1

Open the rundown

Navigate to the rundown that contains the segment you want to link, and open the segment by clicking on it.
2

Click Attach Asset

In the segment detail panel, click the Attach Asset button (the film icon). This opens the Frame.io asset browser.
3

Browse or search for the asset

Use the Frame.io asset browser to navigate through your projects and folders, or type in the search box to find an asset by name. You can switch between Frame.io teams using the team selector at the top of the browser.
4

Select the asset

Click the asset you want to attach. Fabl displays a preview along with the asset’s file name, duration, and current version. Click Attach to confirm.
5

Confirm the attachment

The segment now shows the Frame.io asset inline, including the asset thumbnail, duration, version number, and a Review in Frame.io button. Any team member with access to the rundown can click that button to open the Frame.io review link directly.

Working with attached assets

Viewing attached assets

When a segment has a Frame.io asset attached, a film icon appears next to the segment name in the rundown list view. Click the segment to see the full asset details in the segment panel.

Updating to a new version

If a new version of the asset is uploaded in Frame.io, Fabl automatically updates the version number displayed on the segment — no action required on your part. The review link continues to point to the asset, and Frame.io shows the latest version by default.

Removing an asset attachment

Open the segment, hover over the attached asset, and click the × icon to detach it. This removes the link from the segment but does not affect the asset in Frame.io.
Attach Frame.io review links to segments as soon as rough cuts are ready, then change the segment’s status in Fabl to “In Review.” This way, your rundown doubles as a real-time tracker for what’s been reviewed and approved.
The Review in Frame.io button on each segment opens the Frame.io review link. You can also copy the review URL from the segment panel and share it directly in Slack, email, or any other channel — recipients do not need a Fabl account to access the Frame.io review page.
Frame.io review link visibility is controlled by Frame.io, not Fabl. If a review link is set to password-protected or restricted in Frame.io, those restrictions apply when someone opens it from Fabl.

Troubleshooting

Verify that you are signed in to the correct Frame.io account and team. Go to Settings → Integrations → Frame.io → Configure and check which account is connected. If you have multiple Frame.io teams, use the team selector in the asset browser to switch to the one that contains your assets.
Fabl syncs Frame.io asset metadata periodically. If a new version was just uploaded, wait a few minutes and refresh the rundown. If the version still does not update, detach and reattach the asset to force a fresh sync.
