# Utah Scientific

> Route sources on a Utah Scientific system controller - on-air takes, monitor-matrix routing, and destination locks.

The **Utah Scientific** device controls a Utah Scientific system controller (SC-3, SC-4 or UTAH-200), so your rundown can change what feeds a destination as the show moves between items.

## Connection

Provide the controller's **host** and pick the **controller model**. Leave **port** blank to use the default for that model. The **ping interval** and **response timeout** govern how the agent keeps the link healthy.

## Commands

| Command                 | What it does                                                     |
| ----------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Route | Routes a source to a destination on one or more levels |
| Route to monitor matrix | Routes a source to a monitor-matrix output on one or more levels |
| Lock destination | Locks or unlocks a destination |

A raw command is available for anything not covered above, taking the interface byte, the command or status type byte, and a data block in hex.

<Warning>
  **Route** changes what is on air. Locking a destination is the protection against an unintended take - a locked destination refuses routing changes until it is unlocked.
</Warning>

## Triggers

Rules can react to the connection changing, and to a route changing - carrying the destination that changed, the source now routed to it, and the levels affected.

## State

The device reports whether the controller is reachable, along with the most recent routing change.
