# TouchDesigner

> Send messages to Derivative TouchDesigner over TCP or UDP to drive real-time graphics and interactive content from your rundown.

The **TouchDesigner** device sends messages to Derivative TouchDesigner, letting your rundown drive real-time graphics and interactive content.

## Connection

The agent maintains a connection to TouchDesigner over **TCP or UDP** (you choose). Provide the **host**, the **port** (commonly **7000**), and the **protocol**.

## Commands

* **Send message** — transmit a text message to TouchDesigner. Message content can include values drawn from the triggering event, so a rule can pass dynamic data into your TouchDesigner project.

## State

The device reports its connection state and the transport protocol in use.
