# Ross Video Carbonite

> Control a Ross Carbonite switcher from your rundown — cuts and auto transitions, keyers, crosspoints, memories, the clip player, Media-Store, sequencers and MultiViewer.

The **Carbonite** device controls [Ross Video Carbonite](https://www.rossvideo.com/) production switchers, so a rundown item can cut a source to air, bring a key on, recall a memory, or roll a clip.

## Connection

Provide the switcher's **host** and **TCP port**.

## Commands

### Transitions

| Command             | What it does                                     |
| ------------------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| Auto                | Performs an auto transition on an ME             |
| Cut (take)          | Performs a cut on an ME                          |
| Fade to black       | Fades the program output to black                |
| Set transition rate | Sets the transition rate in frames for an ME     |
| Set transition type | Sets the type — dissolve, DVE, media, or wipe    |
| Set next transition | Sets which elements the next transition includes |

### Keyers

| Command         | What it does                                           |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| Auto keyer      | Auto-transitions a keyer, on air, off air, or toggling |
| Cut keyer       | Cuts a keyer, on air, off air, or toggling             |
| Set keyer mode  | Sets normal, additive, or full                         |
| Chroma-key init | Initialises a chroma-key engine                        |

### Sources and memories

| Set crosspoint          | Routes a source to a destination          |
| Recall memory           | Recalls a memory on an ME                 |
| Store memory            | Stores a memory on an ME                  |
| Set mnemonic            | Sets the on-panel name for a video source |
| Recall / store settings | Loads or saves switcher settings by name  |

### Clips and Media-Store

| Command                          | What it does                                          |
| -------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| Load / play / pause / eject clip | Controls the clip player                              |
| Clip loop on / off               | Turns clip looping on or off                          |
| Load Media-Store item            | Loads a still or animation into a Media-Store channel |

### Sequencer

| Command                | What it does                                    |
| ---------------------- | ----------------------------------------------- |
| Load / unload sequence | Loads a sequence into a sequencer, or clears it |
| Next                   | Runs the currently selected item                |
| Up / Down              | Moves the selection                             |
| Focus                  | Moves the selection to a specific event         |

### MultiViewer and other

| Command         | What it does                                          |
| --------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| MultiViewer box | Selects a source in a MultiViewer box, shifted or not |
| Custom Control  | Runs a Custom Control by bank and number              |
| GPI             | Triggers a GPI                                        |

## State and triggers

The device reports its connection state and raises a trigger when the connection changes.
